Zooming Operator Environment

An intuitive, mobile accessible, zoomable HMI unlike any other.

ZOE is a customizable, zoomable, mobile-friendly HMI. To the user and developer, ZOE works like Google Maps®, but for HMI and SCADA applications. It offers both a bird’s-eye view of your facility and close-ups of individual sections, so you can see as much or as little detail as you need. ZOE represents your entire facility on a single graphics screen of infinite dimension, and its familiar format makes it easier for operators and non-engineers to be trained on ZOE than on any traditional HMI. More intuitive than any other HMI platform ever developed, ZOE makes finding and acting on the information you need, when you need it, quick and easy.

While most HMIs require you to navigate a maze of individual windows, ZOE uses semantic zoom to offer both a bird’s-eye view and close-ups of your facility. ZOE allows you to view as much or as little detail as needed, including relevant charts, CAD drawings, manual controls, tag names, and product manuals, giving you ultimate control of your facility.

Its minimalistic design uses patterns and a high-contrast color scheme, making it user friendly, even for those who are colorblind.

ZOE is customizable and can be integrated into your existing system. ZOE’s configurable dashboards offer ultimate control and visualization of your facility to every level of operation.

Features & Benefits

ZOE® is a unique HMI that works for your whole team, allowing for:

Quick data retrieval
More intuitive than any other HMI platform ever developed, ZOE makes finding and acting on the information you need, when you need it, quick and easy. Custom dashboards allow members of your team to see only the information relevant to them, and because you can program ZOE to include your device manuals and other documentation, you can see all the information you need in one place.

Upper Level Management can find relevant information right on the dashboard.
Operations personnel can zoom to see detailed information where it’s relevant and big picture data where it’s not.
Maintenance can see I/O addressing and tag names right on the screen, and click through to device manuals directly from the device layout.

Full project support on desktops and tablets
ZOE has full mobile capabilities, meaning that you can see your entire project on desktops, laptops, and Windows tablets, giving you access to your information no matter where you are in your facility.

ZOE allows you to fully customize your system layouts so that it operates according to the needs of your facility. With ZOE you can choose to have relevant charts, manual controls, tag names, and hyperlinks to CAD drawings and product manuals appear when you zoom into a specific area.

Faster maintenance
ZOE allows for simple troubleshooting and overall faster maintenance because it pulls up all relevant data quickly. When there is an issue in your facility, ZOE can zoom in to the affected area to display it on the whole screen, along with I/O addressing, tag names, and hyperlinks to device manuals right on the device layout.

ZOE uses a familiar, intuitive format that makes it easy to learn and operate for engineers and non-engineers alike. It uses semantic zooming (similar to Google Maps®) so more details come into view as users zoom in and has complete mobile capabilities so users can pan, tap, and pinch zoom.

ZOE’s minimalistic, intuitive design makes it extremely accessible for all users. Our HMI uses symbols as well as color in graphics so that even those who are color blind can can easily access the data they need.

Fully integrates with your system
ZOE fully integrates into your system and is able to run on desktops, laptops, and tablets, in Windows and Linux. ZOE was built to be adaptable to the ever-changing technology that facilities depend on. It was intentionally designed to be vendor-neutral and fully customizable. Development tools are built-in, so engineers can make changes to ZOE, allowing you to fully customize the HMI to suit your system needs.

Other capabilities

What is included in the tablet version of a project?

Everything that is included in the desktop version! The full desktop version of the project also runs on supported tablets, allowing maintenance and operations to bring the full-featured system right to the impacted area and have all of the required tools at their fingertips.

What kind of information appears when I zoom into a particular area?

System layouts are very much customizable. But in a typical system, zooming into an “area” will cause any relevant charts and trends to appear as well as a representation of the control devices such as photo-eyes. Zooming further to the device level will typically display more detail such as manual controls, I/O addressing, PLC tag names, and links to product manuals.
